Some Windows keyboard shortcuts that everyone needs to know

Windows keyboard shortcuts

All operating systems and almost all programs have keyboard shortcuts for fast work. Usually, users only remember a few keyboard shortcuts. But if you memorize some useful keyboard shortcuts for the convenience of work, life becomes much easier. So in this post, I am going to tell you some of the most important Windows keyboard shortcuts and their functions, which will increase the speed of work on your computer many times.

Ctrl+Z

If you suddenly forget to delete a file and send it to the Recycle Bin while working on a Windows computer, press the Ctrl and Z keys together. This will return your deleted files to their previous location. This shortcut works with most programs, including Microsoft Office, browsers (where the user needs to write something). This basically undo the latest work done. You can press Ctrl + Y to undo what Ctrl + Z does.

Ctrl+W

This keyboard shortcut will close your current window. If you are working on an office document, press Ctrl + W will first ask you to save the document and then close it.

Alt + F4

This will close the running app. The Alt + F4 shortcut also closes the Active window. But as a bonus, if you click on the empty space on the desktop and press Alt + F4, it will show the option to shut down, slip, hibernate, restart, etc.

Ctrl+A

As you know, this shortcut selects all the content in the active window. You can then save by pressing Ctrl + S, copy by pressing Ctrl + C, cut by pressing Ctrl + X, and paste by pressing Ctrl + V in another window.

Win+D

Pressing the Windows button and D together will minimize or hide all the windows in your open and move to the PC desktop. Pressing Win + D again will return hidden windows for the first time.

Alt + Tab

Pressing this shortcut will show a preview of all your running apps on the screen. From there you can quickly click on an app and work on it. The Win + Tab shortcut works almost the same, but here the previews remain even if you press and hold the keyboard.

F2

Clicking on a file or folder and then pressing the F2 button will give you the option to rename that file or folder.

F5

Press F5 to refresh or reload a page while browsing the Internet.

Win + L

This will lock the screen of your PC. As a result, if you want to use the PC again, you have to enter the password and unlock it. If the password is not given in advance, just click on the sign-in button and enter.

Win + PrtScn

This shortcut will save a full screenshot of your PC in the form of an image in the Pictures folder on the C drive. The clipboard will also have the image, which can be edited by opening and pasting the paint program.

Ctrl + Alt + Del

When the PC hangs, you will get the option to launch the Windows Task Manager program by clicking on this famous shortcut. Hanged apps can be closed from there. There is also the option to lock, turn off or sign out the PC.
